PAX East 2010 Musings

A few random thoughts after PAX East 2010:

  • It should be a rule of thumb that if you're going to be selling shirts at a gaming convention, you bring exponentially more XXL and XL shirts than you do the smaller sizes. Everyone I spoke to was sold out of larger sizes (especially XXL) by the end of the first 24-36 hours. Luckily I only need an XL these days.
  • The coolest hoodies were the ones MS was handing out (the same ones that the Avatar codes will get you on XBL).
  • The venue was WAY too small. The keynote was packed and many people had to be turned away. Glad to see they are moving to the larger of the convention centers next year.
  • Everyone was using Tritton headsets on their gaming stations.
  • Microsoft (and games that are coming out for their console) was the king of the show. Nintendo was around. Sony was almost nowhere to be seen.
  • Those Sumo chairs in the gaming lounges are amazing.
  • Samurai Boston has excellent sushi and Korean food.
